- George Blanda was the
- man who would not quit.
- He was a quarterback
- and a kicker for 26
- seasons. George played
- in 340 games, more than anyone in NFL
- history. When he called it quits, he was 48
- years old, the oldest NFL player ever!

- George grew up in Pennsylvania and later
- played football for the University of Kentucky.
- As a pro, he played 10 seasons for the
- Chicago Bears. After playing with the
- Baltimore Colts, in 1950, George joined the
- Houston Oilers in the new American Football
- League (AFL). George helped Houston win
- the first two AFL championships and was
- named AFL Player of the Year, in 1961.
